What you will learn
This class is designed to introduce students to the concepts and techniques of lean technology in manufacturing. Lean manufacturing focuses on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the process of conversion from raw resources to finished products. Lean manufacturing also stresses the importance of efficient and effective use of production resources. This includes reducing lead time, production time and the elimination of waste of production resources, primarily by reducing non-value-added activities. The course covers on planning, evaluation, deployment, and integration of lean manufacturing theory and methods. Employers are increasingly looking for candidates trained in process technology. This course will benefit the industry when skilled and learned students extend their experience into their working environment.
