Rural development refers to the development of rural areas. This topic is related to improving the quality of life of rural people. It is an integrated process which includes the social, economic, political, and spiritual development of the poorer sections of society. This topic consists of relevant and related definitions, objectives of rural development and examples of rural development programs in Malaysia. From this topic, students eventually be able to define rural development concepts, explain the objectives of rural development and discuss the strategies of rural development in Malaysia.
