 Syllabus

This topic covers the neural, physical, and behavioral aspects of human movement, providing an understanding of how motor skills are acquired and controlled. Students will differentiate between motor learning, motor control, and motor development, and learn how these concepts apply to the execution and acquisition of motor skills in sports. The topic also explores classification systems for motor skills, focusing on one-dimensional and two-dimensional models, to enhance the understanding of skill types and their applications in various contexts.

This topic focuses on the understanding of Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS), including their definition and categorization. Students will explore the various factors that influence the development of FMS, such as age, environment, and physical capabilities. Additionally, the topic emphasizes the importance of FMS in overall physical development, skill acquisition, and their role in facilitating participation in sports and physical activities.

This topic explores the concept of motor abilities, distinguishing them from motor skills, and examines how different motor abilities contribute to performance. It covers the difference between general motor ability and the specificity of motor abilities hypothesis, as well as various motor ability categories identified through research. Students will learn how these abilities relate to motor skill performance and how they influence the development and execution of movement tasks.
