What you will learn

The micro-credential Ethical Guiding, Legal Touring is designed to support Diploma in Hotel Management students, especially the tourism students, in developing foundational legal and ethical competencies relevant to professional tourist guiding practice in Malaysia. As future frontline personnel in the tourism sector, students must be equipped with an understanding of basic statutory requirements, licensing frameworks and professional standards governing tourist guides under MOTAC and related tourism laws. This course complements diploma-level curricula by enhancing students’ legal awareness, ethical decision-making, and understanding of duty of care and visitor safety. In alignment with MOHE’s micro-credential framework, the course strengthens students’ employability and work readiness by preparing them to comply with regulatory requirements and uphold professional conduct, thereby contributing to responsible tourism practices and improved service quality within the Malaysian tourism industry.
