A1 : Duration- onset Site of lesion Lesion morphology Evolution of the skin lesions Associated symptoms: pain, itch, bleeding, fever, constitutional symptoms Aggravating and relieving factors: sun/ season/ temperature/ hobbies/ work/ menses/ pregnancy/ stress Possible causes: contact, drugs, supplements, products used Any previous similar episodes Any previous treatment done

A2 : It is important to manage patients expectations. The cause of skin problem can be due to lifestyle and personal care/ daily routines. Normally social history taking is short in most medical and surgical cases. However, in skin problems, the effect of physical, mental and emotional stress may be the cause of skin issues. Hobbies like gardening and pets may also be a contributor to the problem. So even with good treatment, the problem will not be solved unless the causes are identified and removed.
