About this Course

Course Description

Industrial Training (IT) is a compulsory requirement for students in certain programs at all levels of higher education in Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) aimed to strengthen the competencies required. IT course provides students with learning opportunities in a real working environment. IT exposes students to real-life experiences of civil engineering works and get involved in Civil Engineering projects before graduation. The student MUST complete at least eighteen (18) weeks of IT within semester six (6) for the awarding of Diploma in Civil Engineering. The technical and non-technical course outcomes will be assessed and evaluated through the industrial training.

Course Learning Outcomes

1 ) Perform good communication with fellow workers and supervisors in issues related to projects undertaken
2 ) Describe the scientific skills in design and quality delivery of relevant project
3 ) Apply appropriate techniques, and modern engineering or IT tools to civil engineering problems, with an awareness of the limitations
4 ) Demonstrate ethics and responsibilities in working environment related to civil engineering practice
5 ) Demonstrate independent learning in tasks related to industrial training
6 ) Able to conduct investigation in tasks to industrial training
