Course Description

This course reinforces concepts introduced in fundamental fluid mechanics, hydraulics, hydrology, and water quality. Students are required to conduct experiments, analyze and interpret data and prepare laboratory reports.

Course Learning Outcomes

1 ) Construct the experiments, data analysis and interpretation methods related to basic fluid mechanics, hydraulics, hydrology, and water quality using standard test and measurement.
2 ) Demonstrate leadership skills in task related to water engineering.

iii) Determination of metacentric height.
iv) Application of Bernoulli Equation.

i) Determination of head loss in pipes due to friction, fittings, sudden expansion, and contraction.
ii) Determination of hydraulic parameters in uniform flow for open channels.
iii) Measurement of flow over broad crested/sharp-crested weir.
iv) Determination of turbine performance and measurement of pump efficiency, head, and discharge.
