About this Course

Course Description

This course is designed to provide exposure to the students in the travel and tourism industry. Students will be located in various travel and tourism organizations throughout Malaysia ranges from travel agencies, tour operators, airlines, event organizations, theme parks, nature parks, cultural organizations, resorts, government agencies, and other organizations related to the travel and tourism industry. Students will be attached to various departments within the organization. Throughout the practical training period, students will be supervised by an appointed officer in the organization and supervision will be also conducted by the faculty members to ensure training is within the academic requirement. Students are expected to gain maximum experience from the organization purposely to prepare students' capability both in theory and skill management.

Course Learning Outcomes

1 ) Adapt travel and tour operational skills in tourism organizations.
2 ) Demonstrate positive attitude and work ethics in tourism industry during industrial training
3 ) Present verbally the current trends and necessary actions in dealing with working challenges
4 ) Integrate organizational leadership and creativity during industrial training.
5 ) Integrate information of theories and experiences on industrial training

A2 : No, because you have registered according to the prescribed field of study and industrial training is one of the requirements that must be met in the course taken. Exceptions will be given on certain cases with the approval of Head of Faculty and Industrial Training Coordinator.

A3 : The first suggestion is; you can first contact the senior students who is undergoing training at the place you are targeting. This situation can reduce disruption in the organization. If there is no other source of information, you can just contact the company directly.
