Course Description

This course introduces the students to the basic concepts of fiqh muamalat. The course covers the concept of mal (property), milk (ownership) and (aqad) contracts . The impediments to contracts including riba’, gharar and maysir, khiyar (rights of option) and termination of contracts are also discussed. The classifications of contract are also introduced in this course.

Course Learning Outcomes

1 ) Discover the concept of mal (property), milk (ownership) and contracts (aqad) in Islamic business transactions
2 ) Discuss the impediments to contracts, rights of option (khiyar) and termination of contracts in Islamic business transactions
3 ) Explain the discipline of fiqh muamalat, its development and major school of thoughts in Islamic business transactions
