Course Description

This course will introduce students the fundamental aspects, legislations, and development of nutraceutical products in Malaysia and other countries. This course discusses classification of nutraceutical products, quality testing, and stability evaluation. In addition, the principle of packaging, factors related to selection of a suitable packaging material, regulation of marketing, and consumer issues will also be covered.

Course Learning Outcomes

1 ) Identify major types of nutraceutical products in the market and their regulatory requirement and issues
2 ) Demonstrate understanding of the fundamentals of nutraceuticals and their applications
3 ) Demonstrate practical techniques to identify nutraceutical products, conduct quality control assessments, and engage in role-play scenarios simulating real-world pharmaceutical settings
