About this Course

Course Description

This course introduces the concepts and methods of using exercise as a public health tool. The distribution of physical inactivity in the population will be discussed in context with the health of the population, and the evidence base for effective interventions will be reviewed. The course will also review how the evidence base informs national and international policy aimed at promoting physical activity. The students will also be able to understand the implementation of strategies and to identify the skill activities and methods involved in the health promotion activities (planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating health and exercise programs).
