Course Description
This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the interrelationship between sports and media in today's society. The course will include media theories, media practices, media relation planning, and strategies. This course will also explore the media relation role in the overall strategic communication program covering both traditional and future media.
Course Learning Outcomes
1 ) Prepare in forms and styles appropriate to the communications professions, audiences and purposes they served.
2 ) Analyze the proper components involved in preparing and executing effective sport news releases to both print and electronic media.
3 ) Use resources to demonstrate knowledge about strategies and tactics in media relations.
4 ) Apply an use the role and function of media relations in organizational settings.
