The World Wide Web (Web) has become the dominant platform for ubiquitously accessible information and applications of any kind. Although the applications become increasingly complex, the development process still remains ad-hoc. A large gap between design models and the implementation model of the Web has been recognized to be one of the main reasons for the low acceptance of disciplined development in the Web.
