Course Information

About this Course

This course introduces students -how to write on environment and science, which also involves helping them to understand the related research subjects, publications, and audiences. Opportunities in this sort of writing are growing rapidly as environment and science discoveries become more complex and there is an increasing need for writers to translate these information to the public. Through this course, students will learn about current and emerging environmental issues, both locally and nationally while they gain hands-on experience in the basics of journalism: deciding what to write about, gathering news, conducting research, investigating, and interviewing. At the end of the course, students will do reporting and writing environmental and science stories suitable for print, broadcast, and online
