About this Course

This course is designed for prospective art teachers who wish to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to implement effective and meaningful assessment practices in visual arts education. As assessment in visual arts education often involves abstract and creative constructs, this course will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts and principles of assessment, and how they can be applied within the artistic context. Through a combination of theoretical and practical learning experiences, students will learn how to define and evaluate creative constructs, develop criteria for assessment, and select appropriate assessment tools and frameworks.
