About this Course

Government departments and agencies at all levels are now required to specify the outcomes that their programs are expected to produce. This include devising ways to measure and evaluate the extent to which those outcomes have been achieved. Project evaluation can be considered a more in-depth form of performance measurement in that it seeks to do more than measure program outcomes. It is designed to evaluate project operations and the impact of the program. The aim of this course is to provide knowledge and skills needed to construct and assess evaluation designs, collect and analyse data to examine the effects of government programs. It also addresses many of the questions and issues that arise in the process of evaluating program impacts. To enable more effective project planning and analysis, the management aspects are equally emphasized to offer holistic view of the processes.
