About this Course

This course is designed to explore the introduction of traditional theatre in Malaysia. To understand traditional theatre, one should examine the theory in performance studies. This course will expose the elements of drama that can be applied to identify traditional theatre holistically. This course will introduce briefly of four categories of traditional theatre in Malaysia including proto-theatre, puppet theatre, dance theatre and opera. Finally, the student will be learnt the basic way to produce traditional theatre for the public. The process involving in creating a new techniques and ideas of looking at the arts.
