About this Course

This course elaborates the historical development and the sources of law in Malaysia. It also focuses on the position of Islamic law in the federal constitution, jurisdiction and hierarchy of civil courts and Syariah courts in Malaysia. Current Muamalah laws relating to banking, finance and halal are also discussed, including the relevant Acts and Enactments, role of Syariah Advisory Council, Syariah Committee of Islamic Financial Institutions and current issues pertaining to muamalah.
