About this Course

This is a one-semester course that deals with selected areas of the law of the sea. The syllabus focuses on the public international law framework that governs the rights of both the coastal states and nations that use the oceans of the world for navigation. The course focuses on the rights and duties of the archipelagic states and Straits of Malacca`s management along with the transit passage system. The legal status of the deep seabed and marine pollution will also be covered. The disputes settlement procedures, both traditional and organizational will also be looking at. The examination will focus on the syllabus and students are allowed to bring in annotated conventions and various regulations
