About this Course

This online course is as a teaching material to support UiTM Introductory Mandarin Level III (TMC501) students’ formal language course. In addition to the designated textbook, students can use this material to improve their communication abilities in Mandarin through self-learning. This course is also suitable for international students who have completed their Chinese Proficiency Standard Course Level I (HSK 1) and are interested to pursue their HSK 2. This course is a most recommended learning material to students of TMC501 course as a tool to master Mandarin. It is able to provide suitable exercises such as TMC501 listening test samples, TMC501 writing test samples and TMC501 Chinese characters exercises for the needy students and students who wish to excel in their grades. Students will be able to brush up their Mandarin through this course. This course consists of 6 chapters. Each chapter consists of 2 situational dialogues and activities involving listening, reading and writing skills based on the learning outcomes. The teaching materials and exercises are presented through a multimodal approach. The course incorporates words, PowerPoint (PPT), videos, audio recordings, pictures, songs and music to garner the diversified students’ interest while making learning fun to achieve favorable learning outcomes. This course has prepared some Chinese nursery rhymes and pop songs to help students to strengthen their Mandarin in a fun and interesting way. There are also Malay lyrics translations attached for every pop song to help students better understand the songs. They are also exposed to Malaysian customs such as Malaysia traditional culture and festivals, traditional games, delicacies and tourist attractions. By end of this course, they would feel like they have just completed a Malaysian tour.
